Our Year 1 explorers had a brilliant time on their local walk along the River Thames today. They visited the statues of Dr. Alfred Salter and his family – they even spotted the famous cat!
Alfred Salter was a British medical practitioner and Labour Party politician. Salter was born in Greenwich in 1873, the son of Walter Hookway Salter and Elizabeth Tester. For two decades he had been dedicated both professionally and politically to the working-class poor of Bermondsey.
